6-13-2012 RED FISH AND STORMY WEATHER HERE IN NEW ORLEANS
New Orleans fishing at its finest . Its been another busy week of fishing here in Lafitte . The weather hasn’t been ideal this past week but we pulled through it with lots of red fish being caught . Fishing everything from spoons to shrimp on the bottom and every thing in between. The red fish have been varying in size from 16″-29 ” depending on where the wind would alow me to fish. Yesterday I changed up my fishing method and found some fish in the ponds and good reds all around 23″average perfect for the grill. I even got into some trout yesterday . June is usually a month of hot temps but with the breeze its been nice . With Fathers day approaching the weekend is gonna be a busy one . I still have a few days open in this month and with my buddy captain Roy on the water now we have another boat able to fish so we should be able to get you on the water and catching some nice Louisiana red fish . Well its been another busy week of fishing and catching red fish here in Lafitte . The Arkansas crew was back in town and what a time that is . As always we had a good time catching red fish and enjoying life . Out again tomorrow to catch some fine red fish just 30 south of New Orleans Its fun and affordable for all. Ok so this week has been a busy one .I hate going days without posting reports but it happens . The week has been full with limits of red fish from 16″-27″ caught on anything from spoons and spinner baits to market shrimp on the bottom . I fish to the weather and customers. Another successful couple of days of fishing red fish here near New Orleans . Thanks to Mr Andy with his 5 friends on Sunday and Mr Todd and his son Grant today . With the bad weather moving through Saturday The water muddied up and we had to use bait (market shrimp) but with the same results . LIMITS OF RED FISH The fish are here and hungry. 5-11-12 LOUISIANA RED FISHING AT ITS FINEST
Last 2 day have been fun . Yesterday I had Mr. Joey and his family in for a great day of fishing. Capt Roy and I had a great time fishing these guys with lots of action and just as many jokes going around the boat. Catching red fish between 16-27″ the fight was on. Thanks Guys for the fun day hope to see y’all again soon. Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Mr Tom and Mrs Tracy from Missouri . With weather closing in from the West we were pressed for time before the rain may set in. We got to the first spot and Mrs Tracy caught a fish on the second cast and the fight was on . We caught our limit and the weather started to get closer so they decided to take it in on a good note. The fish were between 16-27″ This the first time for both Mr. Tom or Mrs Tracy fishing red fish and they loved it . 5-8-12 BACK ON THE WATER CATCHING LIMITS OF RED FISH
After being down for a week I’m back on the water and it feel good to be back on the boat. Thanks to Capt Roy for helping while I was down. Taking care of my customers and catching fish. Last day the Iowa guys wanted to fish trout. With a bunch of lil trout biting they decided to go back after the reds. Wise choose cause they smoked em. Saturday I had Mr. Chase and 9 of his buddies in for a good day of fishing. Still unable to fish I wanna Thank Capt Donovan, Capt Roy, And Capt Austin for helping me with them guys and catching a bunch of reds. They had a grand time. Fishing New Orleans is a lot of fun and this city has so many other things to do as well. A good friend of mine Mr Johnny, his son Steve and their friend Mr Roy were in town for the Jazz Festival and decided to come fish Sunday. The morning looked promising with bird diving and shrimp popping the trout were on. A Lot of school trout but lots of action. After moving around a lil we got into some good trout. Wouldn’t ya know it, a water spout and weather building, time to head north for some reds. After running from the ran we ended the day with 24 trout and 11 nice red fish.(and stayed dry). Monday I had the pleasure of fishing Mr Tab, his son Wade, and their friend Mr Andy. The bite was a lil slow but we ended up with our limit of red fish in the ice chest and back at the dock before the rain came. The red fish have been between 16-25 ” Fishing has been good and I don’t expect it to do anything but get better. May is a very good month to fish in New Orleans. 5-3-12 Iowa Guys Fishing New Orleans Red Fish
Capt Roy is doing a great job with Mr Gary , Mr, Dan , Mr Chris and Mr Mike from Iowa . I am still recovering from an appendix surgery but should be back on the water in a couple of days . 2days of fishing with limits of red fish both days . Keep up the good work guys. 3-28-12 Mr Mark and Matt Fishing New Orleans
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Mark and his son Matt from Alberta Canada. This would be there first red fishing trip and the first fish we caught was an 8lb red fish . Nice way to start the trip. As the day went on the bite was slow with 9 keeper reds 3 bass ,3 trout and a lot of 15″ red fish that were just under size we had a fun day on the water . 3-24-12 ARKANSAS BOY FISHING IN NEW ORLEANS AGAIN
This weekend I had the pleasure of having some good friends down from Arkansas again . Every year they come down fish a couple of day we go to the crawfish cook off and have a good time. And this year wasn’t any different. We fished 2 days in the shallow water with artificial and caught some good red fish. There wasn’t anything fast about it but the bite was steady . With most of the fish in the 17-22″ range we did hook up to the occasional 25-30″ fish .The trout are starting to show up and with the nice weather in the forcast im sure there wi With good fishing and good company what more could a guy ask for. If you’ve never fished New Orleans at this time of year you don’t know what your missing . 3-20-12 FISHING NEW ORLEANS WINDY WEATHER RED FISH !!!!!
Fishing has been good and Ive been doing doubles for the last 4 days .Today I had off but back at it again tomorrow if the weather permits . The weather has been the main issue but it hasn’t stop us from catching red fish . For the most part the fish have been 16-24″ but I had a few fish in the last week that went 8-10lbs With the winds and the increasing winds we have been catching fish with market shrimp under a cork. The water is stirred up , the fish are there just need to get a stink cricket out there for em. Hopefully the rain stays to the north tomorrow and I can get out to fish . The weekend is pretty busy and I’m looking forward to it . Then I have a couple days off (for Now).
