3/18/2011 Locals Enjoy Fishing To

Some locals from New Orleans decided that they wanted to come and catch some fish and that they did . I had Mr.Dale ,Mr. Dave , Mr. Mel , and Mr. Sam fishing  today . These guys have been friend for a long time and they weren’t giving each other any slack . We laughed as hard as the red fish were fighting . All in fun .The day went by fast with all the laughing and fish biting all day. I always give the customers the option to go fish the big fish in the pass or the smaller ones in the inside and 9x out of 10 they want to catch big fish . The big bull reds and bull drum have been pretty thick . In the inland waters the fish have been biting pretty good as well with red fish ,drum, flounder and speckle trout. The weather has been really nice I wish it would stay this way year round. I have been booking trip every week so don’t miss out book your trip today and COME FISH A NAWLINS GOOD TIME

March 17, 2011 Barataria Bull Reds

Today I had the pleasure of fishing Mr. Mike Parker from Oklahoma. He had never caught a red fish before so i took him out to the pass and we hammered the big bull reds the whole trip. The weather has been excellent and the big fish have been cooperating. We caught around 14 big reds and 7  big  drum fish . Its nice to hear the drag screaming off the reel and seeing the smiles on faces.. I’m fishing the next few days and will be posting reports on how we make out. Thanks Mr. Mike for the fun day of fishing .

March 10, 2011 Red fish in the box

Today I fished Mr. Steve Gruber , his son Chase ,and his friend Alex from Minnisota .The morning started off slow and cold with a cold front blowing 20 mph ,not the ideal conditions for fishing . After searching around a little we got on some fish and put 11 nice reds in the box and a flounder .  We caught quite a few red fish that were just short of the slot limit to keep. That’s a good sign for the months to come . Despite the weather conditions everybody had a good time . Thanks for the fun day of fishing guys. Fishing in Lafitte is getting better every day so book your trip today and get in on some of the action .

Lafitte Fishing Waters Closed

UPDATE June 14, 2010 – My fishing area in the inner waterways around New Orleans have just about all been closed by the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries.   We are now part of the BP prevention and clean up crew, and hope to have our waters clean again very soon, with a healthy marshland and good fishing.

APRIL 17 -MARCH 17, 2010: LAFITTE RED FISH

Well it has been a while since I’ve written a report but I going to try to keep on it from trip to trip. AS OF NOW WE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE CURRENT OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. I’ve been fishing a good bit since my last report April 10 when I had my good friends in from Arkansas, since then I have fished April 17, 19, 21 and 22nd in deep water for the big bull reds and drum. Its always a good time reeling up those big fish but they have moved in and so did we.  I started fishing in the inside water, lakes, bays and bayous on April 25th and 29th and on May 1, 5, 6, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16 and 17 and we have been doing really well on the inside—some days better than others—but all in all, the fishing has been good. We have been catching mostly red fish and drums, with a speck here and there. The winds during the last month haven’t let us get out and look for the specks. I’ve been fishing with gold spoons and spinner baits when the water is clear and fishing with market shrimp when needed. It has been a fun month and I have had some really good customers and we have had a lot of fun fishing together. To recap on the bold type above: We are not affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The media hasn’t really clarified what areas are affected and just state that south Louisiana’s coast has been covered in oil. The oil slick has stayed about 3 miles off the coast of Grand Isle and our fishing grounds are at least 30 miles north of Grand Isle. None of our waters have seen any kind of oil. I will be going back on the water on Friday May 21st and will try to have a report up that day.

APRIL 9 and 10 – ARKANSAS BOYS AND LAFITTE RED FISH

I had some good friends come in from Arkansas to fish and go to an annual crawfish cook off. Mr. Johnny, Mr.Bill, Mr. John, Harvey, Dale, Travis and Steve arrived around 3pm Friday evening. With my boat and another friend of the group, Mr.Robert, and his boat, we loaded the crew up and went fishing. Got to the first spot and fish on. That’s the way I like it. Lafitte Charter Fishing with the Arkansas Boys

We fished with spinner baits with purple cocahoes with yellow tails. We fished till almost dark and ended up with 16 reds all around 18″-25″ perfect size for the grill. After cleaning the fish, they wanted to go eat at a local restaurant that we can get to by water. We loaded back in the boats and went have dinner. The next morning the guys wanted to ride out and try their luck at some of the big bull reds that Ive been catching. The ride was a little bumpy with the wind blowing 15-25mph, but we made it and caught all the big bull reds and drum that they wanted. After battling big fish and mother nature, we went to the crawfish cook-off and continued to enjoy the time that they are down.

Thanks guys! It’s always a fun time when y’all come down. And Thanks a bunch Mr.Robert for lending a hand and your boat. Fishing in Lafitte is picking up and will be good for quite some time.
